Traditional Medicine

Arunachal Pradesh is not only renowned for its diverse cultural heritage but also for its rich floral and faunal biodiversity. Within this natural treasure trove, many plants possess significant medicinal attributes. For ages, the indigenous tribal communities have relied on these plants for their traditional medications, using them to cure and prevent diseases. However, as the world advances, the younger generation tends to favor modern medications, often overlooking the potential of the medicinal plants abundant in the state.

Recognizing the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and promoting the use of natural remedies, the Donyi Polo Cultural and Charitable Trust (DPCCT) has made it a focal point to promote and propagate traditional medicines in Arunachal Pradesh. These remedies, derived from medicinal plants, contain no artificial elements and are easily accessible in the lush greenery of Arunachal Pradesh. By promoting the use of traditional medicines, we as an NGO aim to raise awareness and encourage people to embrace the highly effective traditional medications available in the region as well as emphasize their value and effectiveness in preventing and treating diseases.

In our endeavor to uplift the indigenous communities of Arunachal Pradesh, the DPCCT also aims to promote a healthy lifestyle. In today's fast-paced world, it is easy to overlook the importance of maintaining our mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. Understanding the need for holistic well-being, we envision introducing and encouraging yoga and meditation practices among the indigenous communities. Yoga and meditation have proven to be powerful tools for achieving balance and harmony within oneself.

They provide a pathway to inner peace, mental clarity, and physical vitality. Through workshops, training programs, and community sessions, we seek to empower individuals to incorporate these practices into their daily lives. By offering guidance and support, we enable them to reap the rewards of a regular yoga and meditation practice, promoting self-care and inner transformation.
