Ancient Wisdom Menjwk Meqkok Rwguu
The Galo people, primarily residing in the Leparada district of Arunachal Pradesh, are part of the Tani ethnic group, sharing linguistic and cultural ties with neighbouring tribes such as the Nyishi, Apatani, and Tagin. Guided by the Donyi-Polo faith, which venerates the sun (Donyi) and moon (Polo), their traditions are deeply rooted in nature, community, and ancestral wisdom. Festivals like Mopin celebrate the agricultural season with dances, rituals, and communal feasts, reflecting their enduring cultural identity and close bond with the environment.
In order to safeguard and preserve the rich heritage of the Galo community, the Donyi Polo Cultural & Charitable Trust (DPCCT) established Menjwk Meqkok Rwguu in Basar (Daacw Moorw, Kaadw) in 2022.
